Curtis Peacock
Tuba Instructor
Curtis Peacock is the instructor of tuba, euphonium, and low brass methods at Central Washington University. Just after his 18 th birthday, Curtis performed on NPR's " From the Top," with host Christopher O'Riley. He has since received a Master's Degree as well as a Bachelor's Degree from Arizona State University, where he studied with Sam Pilafian. While at ASU, Curtis won both the Concerto Competition and the Contemporary Music Society Solo Competition. Upon graduation, he founded an innovative early jazz band called The Primate Fiasco ( www.theprimatefiasco.com ). Most recently, Curtis has recorded a number of symphonies by the modern British symphonist, Richard Arnell, with Musica Nova, a Phoenix-based modern orchestra. In addition to performing and teaching, Curtis is active as a composer and champion of new music. Last updated July 31, 2008
