If you wish to be considered for the 2008-09 CWU Chamber Choir, a full audition is required to enter the group. Dr. Weidenaar will audition students privately in his office. Audition sign up sheets will be posted on the bulletin board outside Dr. Weidenaar's Office (room 209) in the Music Building on or after Sept. 18, 2008.
There will be multiple required evening commitments given you at the audition which must be cleared in order for you to be considered for this group. Further, a weekly one hour sectional is also required.
This choir requires a commitment for the complete school year.
If you would like to audition for Chamber Choir, There are two things you must prepare.
- An art song or aria of your choice (60-90 seconds - you will sing it unaccompanied) which best demonstrates your current skills.
- This excerpt chosen by Dr. Weidenaar. Please download and learn your part for this piece (PDF 1.9 Mb).

Although there are two line
numbers for Chamber Choir, it is the same ensemble. The lower course number
(in the 200's) is for freshman and sophomores while the upper number (in
the 400's) is generally for juniors or seniors. In the case of certain choirs, the upper line number (in the 500's) is
for graduate students.
It is very common
for singers to go through drops and adds to change the ensemble in which
they have been enrolled. If you've signed up, you may drop one choir and replace it with another (if needed) - see your instructor for how.
You will need a permission number from Dr. Weidenaar. There is
no need to physically sign up for chamber choir before its first rehearsal.
You are given until the end of the Change of Schedule Period by the registrar's office to
drop and add with no penalty . After that time a $75.00 fee is assessed.
