Music : Marching Band

The CWU Wildcat Marching Band performs at all home footbal games as well as the annual “Battle in Seattle” at Quest Field. Comprised of approximately 150 musicians, the band remains an integral and exciting part of the tradition and spirit at Central Washington University.

With a minimum of rehearsal time, the ensemble is able to provide quality entertainment while modeling appropriate music education teaching techniques through active student leadership. Although the majority of students are music majors, students from other academic majors are welcome and encouraged to participate. In addition, the CWU 24 member Dancecats and 16 member Colorguard perform with the Wildcat Marching Band.

While there is no official audition requirement for marching band, the Drumline, Colorguard, and Dancecats have separate auditions for participation. The Marching Band’s weekly five-hour rehearsal schedule alternates with Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band rehearsals. (see detailed rehearsal schedule)
