As a whole group, we will go over the different ways of building shelters out in the wilderness. Students will be asked if they know any ways of building a shelter. Then we will give them a situation and have them try to figure out the best way to build a shelter. After this we will go over the best way to build a shelter in this situation. As an activity, each group will be given a situation card with what is around them and what their resources are. The students will have to make a plan onto how they will make a shelter with the materials given. The students will also have to figure out how to put a tent up so that when they go on campout they will be able to set up home camp. The students will get to practice building the real shelters out in the wilderness on the campout.
