Volleyball Assessment





My students will be graded on

1. Skills Tests    (60%)
2. Journal    (10%)
3. Comprehensive test  (10%)
4. Attendance    (20%)

The Skills Tests will be done every Friday covering material that week.

The tests will include (each are worth 10%)
1. setting
2. passing
3. attacking
4. serving
5. blocking
6. combining in game

Setting assessment will include: (individual)(given a yes or not yet)
The student will receive 5 tosses and will have to demonstrate the proper setting techniques to the 52, 31, 11, C2, and student choice.  The proper techniques are ….
-Accuracy and consistency of set
-Hands up early
-Number of times not palming ball
-Facing the target
-Extend and pray

 Passing Assessment: (individual)(A yes or not yet is given)
The student will receive 5 tosses and will have to demonstrate the proper techniques…
-Consistency and accuracy
-Facing the ball
-Getting to the point of contact before ball
-Pass to target

Attacking Assessment (individual)(A yes or not yet is given)
The student will receive 6 hits near the net.
-Accelerating to jump
-Jumping off both feet
-Contact the ball at a point high and in front of you
-Hand hits top and back of ball with wrist snapping
-Accuracy and consistency

Serving Assessment (individual)(A yes or not yet is given)
The student will be asked to serve 5 times overhand, 2 must be to different directions that are indicated before the serve.
4 out of 5 given yes

Blocking Assessment: (A yes or not yet is given)
Students will be graded on how well they
-Hold their hands
-Front the hitter
-Number of blocked shots

Skills combined in game Assessment:
Given on 3 on 3 tournament and determines if skill level is at
Beginner level, (D)
Still inconsistant (C)
Proficient (B)
Utilization (A)

If a students is unable to learn these skills because of untangibles like shortness, injuries, or disabilities modifications or other tests will be given to test knowledge.

The comprehensive test will include:
-Rules and regulations
-Court/net/line dimensions
-Cues for setting, attacking, serving, passing, and blocking.

The journal will include a running information of day to day drills and activities.  It will also require additional info other aspects related to volleyball.
