Topic:
- Rebounding

Objective:
- Students will be able to position themselves around a frame so that they can rebound a shot.

Skill:
- Catching and positioning body to make catches after a shot.

Equipment:
- 18 Handballs, 18 nerf balls, 9 frames, 6 targets on wall.

Instant Activity: Throw and Catch Tag

Lesson Activity:
-I. Introduce the forbidden zone and where it exists around the frame.
-II. Rebounding and Shooting Stations
    A. First Station
        1. Place targets on the wall, have students practice shooting.
    B. Second Station
        1. Have students throw nerf balls off of the wall or backboards to partners and have the partner rebound.
    C. Third Station
        1. In partners, have one throw the ball at the frame and then have the other partner rebound the ball before it touches the ground.
    D. Have students at stations for 4-5 minutes and then bring them in and have them get into groups of four.
    E. Rebound Positioning Drill
        1. Get students in groups of four with one ball and a frame.
        2. Have students circle around and have one student shoot while the others rebound.
        3. Alternate shooters and make sure the students are communicating.
        4. After a while make a game out of it and see who can score a point by getting the ball by their rebounder's.
-III. Rebounding and Shooting Strategies
    A. Bring students in and discuss shooting strategies and rebounding strategies.
        1. Shooting High/Low off of the frame.
        2. Shooting Hard/Soft.
        3. Shooting Overhand/Underhand.
        4. Surrounding the screen.
        5. Standing versus kneeling.

Review:
- Have student tell you about some strategies for scoring, shooting and rebounding.
- Ask students about the forbidden zone.

Assessment:
- Oral assessment of strategies for shooting and rebounding.
