This page will give students an idea of the skills necessary to participate and be successful at Tchoukball. It also has information on how to perform the skill and drills that will help enhance performance.



Skills How to be successful Effective Drills
Throwing Accuracy Side orientation.
Point Shoulder at target.
Arm way back.
Follow through.
Finish in the ready position.
Throwing to a target on the wall
Throwing to a partner with out the partner having to move to catch the ball. 
Make running throws focus on leading and accuracy.
Catching Arms extended.
Give with the ball.
Make a basket or a window with hands.
Keep your eyes on the ball.
Catch the ball before you try to do something else.
Have partners throw the ball directly at the chest.
Have partners throw the ball over the shoulder.
Throw the ball at different heights so partners has to adjust and make different catches.
Make running catches.
Passing Overhand.
Underhand.
Trick passes.
Passing on the move.
Lead your teammate and use touch.
Pass overhand while jogging in a line with partner.
Pass underhand while jogging with partner. 
Make passes of different lengths and styles  with partner.
Play two on two with emphasis on passing.
Footwork Key to throwing.
Work on minimizing steps.
Catch ball with one foot on ground.
Pass with an emphasis on the number of touches the feet make when the ball is caught.
Shooting Be accurate
Take good shots.
Know your shooting range.
Students shoot at a mark/box on the wall and count how many times they are successful. 
Students shoot on frame to learn how the ball bounces and how hard of throw is needed.
Scoring Know how points are scored.
Strategy is key.
Cooperation and team work.
Have groups practice passing and shooting without rebounds, learn how points are scored.
Have groups practice scoring by passing, shooting and having group members try to rebound the shoot.
Rebounding Positioning is everything.
Strategy.
Communication and Cooperation.
Throw balls off of wall and have students catch the ball on the rebound. 
Catch the ball off walls before it touches the ground. 
Throw ball off angled surface/frame to learn where the ball is going to go.
