Class Introduction and Overview:
This class was
designed to give students the opportunity to experience a new game, Tchoukball.
The game is unique in that it involves no contact of any kind. The skills
that will be taught in this unit are throwing for accuracy, throwing both
over and underhand, passing and catching and most importantly team work.
Equipment:
-
A ball of some sort. Traditionally
a handball is used but any ball that gets a good rebound can be used.

One or two rebound screens/frames
(1m x 1m) or use what ever can be found.

A large open playing surface indoors
or outdoors.

Student Learning Objectives:

Demonstrate basic throwing and catching
techniques.

Demonstrate basic passing techniques
for Tchoukball.

Demonstrate knowledge of how to score
points.

Understands the basic concepts of the
game.

Works well with peers
Attendance:
-
Attendance is vital in this class all
the time, but even more so during this unit since the sport is relatively
unknown in the united states.
Assessment:
The assessment for this unit will
be determined by the following:

Active Participation (60%)

Tests over skills and basic rules of
the game (20%)

Attendance (20%)
Grading:
100%-90% = A
89% - 80% = B
79% - 70% = C
69% - 60% = D
59% below = F
