Working Hand in Hand to Educate Children
Dear Parents:
The next four weeks you and I become partners in one of the most important jobs we have --- helping your child become the best he or she can be as a Salmon Fisher person. It is a time consuming and challenging task, yet a terrifically awarding one.  I will greet your child every day with the expectation that the day will be meaningful and important. He or she will be expected to learn as much as they can about Salmon Fishing in a very short time period. They will be involved in fun and exciting lessons in which they will be challenged both mentally and physically.

Your child will be exposed to a variety of Salmon Fishing Information. History, life cycles, specific species, fishing equipment, and so much more....., if you have any questions about the curriculum guidelines please feel free to call me at anytime. Along with the basic curriculum the students will be taking a  field trip to the University of Washington Fisheries Department along with a presentation by The Seattle Aquarium and The Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. If you would like to volunteer in any of these activities please contact me! I feel that it is very important for you to be be involved with your son or daughters' education.

My main objective for this lesson is to provide students with the opportunity to become involved in a recreational activity in which they can be successful while and making sound judgments during participation.  I hope to provide them with the essential tools necessary to take this wonderful activity into their future lives...they may even be able to give dad or mom a great fish tip!

I am looking forward to an exciting unit with the students and a rewarding partnership with you.

Sincerely,

Marie Smith
