Topic:

-Safety on and of the boat
 

Objective:

-Students will know the basic safety techniques while on the a sailboat.
 

Skill:

-understanding the safety on the boat.
 

Equipment:

-Life Jackets for every two students
 

Lesson Activity:

 I. Introduction to safety while sailing

   A. Benefits of safety while you are sailing

   B. Parts of safety

     1.  Present the class with a handout for safety.

   C.  Life Jacket and other safety concerns

     1.  Have the students try on different life jackets and make sure that they are secure.

     2.  Have the students partner up, once they are together have them try on different life jackets.  And test their partners to make sure they are secure.

Review:

-Gather students around instructor.  Hand out a sheet of paper and ask them to fill out one of the major safety aspects that they should rember before going to sea.
 

Assessment:

-The hand out for the students.
