TASK CARDS

Cradling A Ball Against The Wall

Stand with your back to the wall and cradle by swinging the stick, with or without a ball, from one shoulder to the other. Try to make your stick touch the wall on both sides. (If you have a ball, try not to drop it.) Remember to hold the stick firmly with your fingers but not to tight.

Passing A Ball

There are four lines (1, 2, 3, and 4), each at a point on a square. Player 1 starts with the ball and runs toward Player 2. Player 2 runs toward line 3 and received the ball from Player 1. Player 2 continues with the ball as player 3 moves toward line 4. Player 2 passes to player 3, who advances toward line 4. The ball continues to be passed around the square.

Variations:

Scooping A Ball

There are four lines, and two lines face each other. The two players who are facing each other start to run towards each other, the one with the ball rolls the ball to the advancing player. That player picks the ball up and does the same for the next person in line.

Throwing the Ball

There should be many different target spaces on the wall. Have each player find the target that they would like to start out with (Easiest to Hardest). When the whistle is blown have the players throw there ball at that target. The players may switch if the target was too easy or too hard for them. Now, have the players hit the target again and see how many times they can hit the target in the exact place.

Shooting the Ball

Have about 15-20 balls lined up on the top of the arc. A player begins at one end of the line of balls, and when the whistle is blown, s/he quickly scoops the ball and shoots at the goal. S/he goes around the top of the arc, shooting each ball one by one.

With this task it is probably recommended that the class is divided up into small groups, and these groups can be at different stations.
