KICKING COURSE

     Course Description

     The purpose of this unit  is to introduce elementary students the basic elements of kicking.  Students will be given multiple opportunities to practice the skill of kicking so they will be able to use the skill in any situation.

    Kicking takes a lot of balance and coordination.  Kicking is one motor skill that is  used in a variety of different sports.  The most common sport that comes to mind is Soccer.  Soccer has grown over the years and is becoming one of the most popular sports in world today.

    In this unit I will base a lot of the basic kicking and moving on soccer.  Students will be able to compare and contrast the different types of kicking when watch a game or T.V.
 

   Objectives

     Students will demonstrate there capabilities in the following areas:
 


    Assessment

     Every student will be graded on their participation.  This is a challenging sport and I ask that everyone try their
     best.  Please show up to class every day because that is how you are going to be graded.  There will also be an assessment check off  list.

    Grading

        90-100% = A
         80 -89 % = B
         70- 79 % = C
         60 - 69% = D
         less than 59% = F
         (+ and - grades will be assigned to the top and bottom three points within each range.  E.g., 76% =C+)
