Unit: Day
hiking
Purpose:
By the end of this day hiking unit students should have a better understanding
of what a day hike is all about. There is more to a hike that the
actual hike. You need to plan, pack, condition, know what the proper
attire is as well as be able to hike. This unit will be five days
long with each day covering one of these areas. If a person is going
to be in the outdoors, then they need to know some basics, which we will
cover in class. There is much to know and learn about hiking.
This is only a glimpse of what lays out there for you to discover.
I hope it is fun and enjoyable for each students and they come to understand
