Footwork Drills:
1. Power Push

let students alternate being on the
approach after six trials
*instructions:

take a position about 4 feet from the
foul line on the approach. Stand with both feet together. Do
not put your fingers in the ball or align it with your swing plane.
Hold the ball in both hands at waist-level and at the midline of your body.

begin counting in groups of four to
establish your cadence. To sharpen sense of timing, subdivide your
four-count cadence by adding an 'AND' between counts. Focus your
eyes on the second arrow. On the 'AND' between 'three' and 'four',
begin stepping on your sliding foot.

on 'four' push your sliding foot toward
the foul line. At the same time, bend your swingside leg, using it
as an anchor.

on the 'AND' after 'four', finish your
slide by keeping your upper body straight and directly over your hips.
