Boat Safety and Water Sports
                                    Parent Letter

(This letter will be sent out two weeks prior to beginning this particular unit)

Dear Parents:
The next four weeks you and I become partners in one of the most important jobs we have --- helping your child become the best he or she can be in boating safety, water skiing, and wake boarding. It is a scary and challenging task, yet a terrifically awarding one.   I will greet your child every day with the expectation that the day will be meaningful and important. He or she will be expected to learn as much as they can about boat safety and water sports in a very short time period. They will be involved in fun and exciting  lessons in which they will be challenged both mentally and physically.
I understand that safety is one of your main concerns, but please let me assure you that the students will not be involved with any motorized boats and all the boat safety, water skiing, and wake boarding will be done on dry land, with a machine, or in the pool. My main objective for this lesson is to provide students with the opportunity to become involved in a recreational activity in which they can be safe and make sound judgments in while participating in it.

I am looking forward to an exciting unit with the students and a rewarding partnership with you.

Sincerely,

____Marie Smith______

Please share any ideas you have on how we can better work together to ensure your child has a successful year. Then sign and return this to me as soon as possible (or email your responses to me)  msmith1929@hotmail.com.
