Objective:
Students will have the skills and knowledge to build a safe campfire in the outdoors.
Skill:
Students will have the ability to build a fire by using a variety of methods and materials from the outdoors.

Lesson Activity:
I. Explain and review safety and regulation handout on campfires.
II. Explain the steps on how to build a campfire.
A. Students will follow a task card with a partner and they will each build a fire (will not be lit).
B. Instructor
will observe all fires that were built to make sure that they are correct.
Review:
-Gather the students around instructor and ask them to give 5 tips for campfire safety and regulation.
-Have
2 to 3 students explain how they built their campfire and show their campfire
to the class.
Assessment:
-Can students build a safe campfire?
-Students
will turn in task cards with appropriate comments from their partner on
their observations of the
campfire
that they built.
-Instructor
will also observe the students campfires after they have been built.
