    What to Wear Backpacking
 

Objective:

    Students will be able to identify the appropriate clothing to wear for backpacking.
 

Skill:

    Students will wear the appropriate clothing for backpacking.
 

Equipment:

• Clothing (inner, mid & outer wear)

Instant Activity: Ten Questions
 

Lesson Activity:

    I. Explain and review the handout on layers of clothing.

    II. Show the students examples of the various layers of clothing. Pass the clothing around and alllow the
    students to feel and examine the various materials.

    III. Students will find a partner and each person will supply their partner with the appropriate clothing.
    There will be piles of clothing throughout the gymnasium and the students will gather clothes from
    each pile to dress their partner.
 

Review:

    -Gather the students around instructor and ask them to identify the 3 layers of clothing.

        -Have students pick up three pieces of clothing from each of the layers to show the class.
 

Assessment:

        -Can students identify the 3 different layers of clothing?

        Ask the students to find 3 articles of clothing from the different layers. Partner will use a checklist to
