Topic:

    How to Fit a Backpack
 

Objective:

    Students will know how to fit themselves properly for a backpack.
 

Skill:

    Students will learn the techniques of fitting themselves  for a backpack.
 

Equipment:
 

•     Backpacks (internal/external frames & different sizes)
•     Tape measure

Instant Activity: Trap, Rabbit, Hunter
 

Lesson Activity:

    I. Students will find a partner and one partner will retrieve one tape measure for their group.

    II. Students will determine their torso length (determines pack size).

        A. Students will follow a task card.
        B. Students will record size of backpack on task card.
        C. Students will then retrieve the backpack of their size from the specified location.
 

Review:

        -Instructor will review the steps on the task card for determining the size of the backpack.
 
 

Assessment:

        -Instructor will observe all group activities while the students are determining their backpack size to insure
        that the students are performing the tasks correctly.

        -Instructor will visually check the size of the backpack that each student choose to insure that it is the
        correct size for them.

        -Students will receive 5 points for completely their task card with their partner.
