2 Week Block Plan
Class Meets for 50 minutes Each Day
 
 
 

Day 1: Intro. to terms and basic skills needed to be successful Day 2: Safety, and shooting to a target at close range Day 3: Review of orientation to target.
Follow through
Day 4: Consistency and shooting to specified targets Day 5: Using sights to improve accuracy
-Eye dominance
-Aiming to a target 
-Projecting an object to a target (darts)
-Introduction to archery related terms (nock, rest)
-Orientation to the target
-Stringing/unstringing the bow
-Safety procedures
-Draw
-Anchor point
-Release
-Ready position
-Holding the bow properly
-Catching the bow after the realease
-Follow through to the target
-Consistency in movements and placement of arrows on the target
-Shoot to balloons target drill
-Introduce the use of sights on the bow for better accuracy.
-Shooting at varied distances using sights
Day 6: Review Day 7: Competitive shooting (competition optional) Day 8: Practice and preparation for test Day 9: Skills test Day 10: Written test, and finishing up on skills test
-Grouping shots 
-Shooting at different stations (review of specific cues presented earlier in the unit)
-Shooting to targets for points
-Range shooting
-Practice for skill test
-Go over cues presented on task cards
-Analyze self and partner
-Skills test
-Self, partner, and teacher assessment/evaluation
-Written test
