HR: Balancing Work and Life : Child/Elder Care

It may be difficult to concentrate on your job when you're concerned about finding care for children or elderly family members. The following resources are available to assist you.

Child Care:

Washington State Department of Early Learning
Provides oversight to the 174,000 licensed child care enrollment slots in Washington State. This website includes child care resources and referral information.

CWU Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC)
Childcare services and afterschool care for children from one month to eight years of age of CWU student, faculty, and staff parents. Located in Michaelsen Hall and Brooklane Village.

Little Cats Summer Kids Camp
An all-day recreational and educational program offered by CWU's Recreation Program runs Monday through Friday from June through August for children entering first through fifth grade.

Elder Care:

Aging and Disability Services Administration
(Washington State DSHS)
This website includes information on finding in-home services, residential care (assisted living, nursing home), resources to pay for care, possible state and federal benefits, legal and financial planning, and aging health information.
