Summer 2008 Financial Aid process:
Make sure you have completed the 2007-2008 FAFSA (the 07-08 FAFSA application will not be available after June 30, 2008)
Enroll in classes first. If you drop all classes by June 1st you will not be charged the $40.00 registration fee.
important: you must be enrolled at least half time to receive financial aid (6 credits for undergrad and post-bac, and 5 credits for masters).
Once enrolled submit the On-line Summer Financial Aid Application.
Summer registration period is May 5 to June 15 with Add/Drop from June 16 to June 18.
Once you have registered for summer classes and submitted a Summer Financial Aid Application, an email will be sent to your CWU groupwise account to inform you of your summer financial aid. Please note that you must have completed the FAFSA to be eligible for summer financial aid.
Once you receive your award you must accept or decline the offer on SAFARI .
Any State Need Grant offer that has not disbursed by June 27 will be canceled.
Your award will be based on the number of credits you put on the Summer Financial Aid Application. You must be enrolled at least half time to receive financial aid (6 credits for undergrad and post-bac, and 5 credits for masters).
Grant aid will be pro-rated per actual enrollment prior to disbursement on June 19. Loans require half time enrollment.
Once aid has disbursed on Census Date (June 19) it cannot be increased for additional enrollment.
It is important to be fully registered during the May 5 to June 18 enrollment period.
Some State Need Grant will be available. You must enroll early to be considered for these funds.
To estimate your summer aid eligibility:
Summer is the last quarter of the award year at CWU; if you have attended only at CWU since June 07, consider these things:

If you attended elsewhere, your eligibility will depend on where you attended and how much you received. Some schools consider summer the first quarter of the award year. In that case, 2007 summer loans will apply to the annual limit.
If you do not have remaining federal eligibility go to the Financial Aid Handbook for information on Alternative Loans. Alternative loan lender information and the on-line loan application may be accessed at the Simple Tuition.
If you were eligible for a Pell grant during the year and attended less than full time during any of the academic year quarters, you may still have eligibility for summer. If you attended elsewhere see above bolded statement.
State Need Grant: If you were eligible during the year you may be eligible during the summer. This gift aid will be offered on a first come/first served basis to eligible students and will be pro-rated for actual enrollment.
