I am committed to assisting students in furthering their education around gender, violence prevention and non-traditional student issues. Hello! My name is Michelle Cyrus and I am the Assistant Director of Nontraditional Student Programs and Services for the Center of Student Empowerment. I am a proud CWU alumnus. I am married, have two adult children who are CWU alumnus, and a grandson. I have lived in Ellensburg and worked at CWU since 1995. I am excited about the programming we do here at the Center for Student Empowerment and I look forward to being a valuable resource for students at the CWU Centers.

Hello! My name is Mal Stewman and I am the Program Support Supervisor for the Center for Student Empowerment. I am a proud CWU Alumni and really enjoy the Ellensburg area. I am originally from Tacoma, Washington, but I came to Ellensburg to go to college and basically never really left. I have always enjoyed the Central Washington campus and I am excited about the work we do in the Center for Student Empowerment. I look forward to bringing in great programs and activities to students and community members of all backgrounds and am always open to your input. If you have ideas for speakers or programs that you think would fit the mission and goals of the E-center, please feel free to stop by and share them with me.

Hi, all! My name is Jack Frost and I am a June 2007 CWU alum. I was active with the nontraditional program here on campus my whole time as a student. I recently started working in the Empowerment Center and am excited to be working here because I feel like I can give back what was so freely given to me. I have lived in Ellensburg the past 8 years and love this side of the state. I have been fortunate in my life as I have had the privilege to meet Dr. King and César Chávez - two very big influences on my life.

Lisa Fields : Non-Trad Event Programmer
Hello, my name is Lisa Fields. I am a sophomore and this is my second year working for The Center for Student Empowerment. I am very excited to be the Non-Trad Event Programmer again this year. Outside of school and work I enjoy spending time with my family, which includes my husband of 7 years and our two boys, ages 6 and 4. I also enjoy riding horses and relaxing and watching movies. We are also expecting our third child in March and we are very excited. If you have any ideas for non trad programs, let me know. I can't wait to meet you.

Hi my name is Jared Stewart, I’m a senior at Central and public relations major with a minor in women studies. This is my first year at the E Center, I’m doing women’s programming. I like it here in Ellensburg, even during the inhospitable winters. I enjoy pop culture, bad art and dark comedies. I think everybody should like everybody. Hello. I am the Web/Marketing Manager for the Center for Student empowerment. I am in my senior year and will graduate with my Business and Marketing degree in the Spring. I own a local website ThinkBurg.com, and have recently founded the Central Washington University Entrepreneurship Club. I look forward to helping the Center create a strong marketing presence both on and offline.

Hey!!!! My name is Roxann Smith I am a junior this year and one of the new Men’s Programmers (exciting!). In my spare time I like to sit on my couch and watch every reality TV show I can with my roomies lol. Men’s Programming this year will be a hit with lots of new events and projects. Hi! My name is Holly Lacell and I’m the new editor of The Quest, which is a newsletter geared towards non-traditional students.
Some info about me--I’m a second year senior double majoring in Anthropology and English: Writing Specialization, with a minor in Women’s Studies. Don’t ask me what I’m going to do with all that, I’m still not sure myself! Some of my hobbies are reading, writing, knitting, cooking/baking, and wasting time on the internet.
