Freedom To Marry Week

February 12-14, 2008

Tuesday February 12:

This event will be held in the SURC Pit from 11:30 -1pm. It is an open forum for people to express their thoughts, concerns, and opinions about same-sex marriage. A guest from the CWU chapter of the ACLU will also explain the difference between domestic partnership, civil unions and marriage. It's free and all are welcome

The political programmer for Ellensburg Planned Parenthood, Jen Ham, will return to CWU to present the history of marriage. This presentation gives an indepth look at how marriage originated, and the ways in which it has evolved over time. Free

Wednesday February 13:

Held in the SURC pit, same sex couples from the community will talk about the issues they face, and the ways in which being denied marriage rights have affected their family and their lives. Audience members are encouraged to ask questions to the panelist. Free and open to all

Come and join in on the first ever bachelor/bachelorette party in celebration of Freedom to Marry week. There will be food, party games, safe sex tips and more!! Don't miss out. FREE Surc 135

Thursday February 14:

You are cordially invited to attend the annual Freedom to Marry Ceremony with special guest Reverend Jane Newall. Same-sex couples will stand together in a symbolic ceremony to celebrate love, equality and community. A reception will follow immediately. Free and open to everyone.
