Biography

Assistant professor in the Communication Department
at Central Washington University.

I teach print journalism classes as well as advise The Observer,
the campus newspaper. Thanks to a recent grant from the CWU
Foundation and Alumni Board, we have been able to produce
Observer Online.

I have worked on newspapers in Alaska, Oregon, Idaho, Texas,
and Washington, D.C. before entering the academic world.
Most recently, I have been the publisher/adviser
of the student media at Portland State University,
a large program with a daily campus newspaper.

I received my master's degree in journalism and public affairs
at American University in Washington, D.C.,
where I also wrote for the Dallas Morning News.
