Dr.
Kovalerchuk published two books, over 10 book chapters and more than 150 papers
in refereed journals and conference proceedings. His research has been
supported by grants from multiple US Government Agencies and foundations that
include the US National Research Council, Advanced Research & Development
Activity (ARDA), National Imagery and Mapping Agency, Office of Naval Research,
NASA, DoD, the International Science Foundation, International Research and Exchange
Board, Austrian Cybernetics Society, Commission of European Community,
Macarthur Foundation, and S. Scott Cancer Center.
Professional Affiliations:
Dr.
Kovalerchuk is a member of ACM, IEEE, SPIE, BISC, IFSA/NAFIPS, Society for
Computer Applications in Radiology, the International Artificial Intelligence
in Education Society and others. Dr. Kovalerchuk lectured at several
Universities and research laboratories in the USA, Canada, Europe and Asia. He
delivered multiple tutorials at the international Conferences in Europe,
Australia, and North America.
He has been
a chair of two International Computational Intelligence Conferences in the US
(2006, 2009) and a program committee member of multiple conferences that
include:
International Conferences on Computational Intelligence and
Neuroscience;
IEEE International Symposium on Intelligent Control (ISIC) and Intelligent
Systems and Semiotics (ISAS);
CIRA, IEEE International Symposiums on Computational Intelligence in Robotics,
Automation, Defense and Security.
International Conferences on Imaging Science, Systems, and
Technology (CISST);
International Conferences on Artificial Intelligence and
Applications (AIA) and others.
Dr, Kovalerchuk serves as a member of the editorial boards
of journals and as a reviewer of papers at multiple IEEE, SPIE and other
journals and conferences. He has been invited to participate and organize the
panels at the International Conferences and Congresses such as the World
Congress on Computational Intelligence (WCCI-2012, Brisbane, Australia). He
also served as a reviewer of the research proposals at the US and foreign
finding agencies, including NSF and served as an expert at the US Government
expert panels.
The US National Research Council awarded him to conduct research in 2007-2008
as a senior visiting scholar at the US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL).
Dr. Kovalerchuk also actively collaborates with Pacific Northwest National
Laboratory, other Universities and major US industry companies in applied data
and image fusion research projects serving as a principal investigator.
